Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at this enchanting quinta, I experienced a blend of culinary delight and serene surroundings that felt so quintessentially European. Nestled just a short cab ride from Peso da Régua, this country house offers an inviting ambiance for food enthusiasts. Breakfast was a delightful spread featuring fresh fruits handpicked from the property's gardens, alongside artisanal local hams and cheeses. I particularly enjoyed the made-to-order eggs, a perfect start to the day as I contemplated the stunning views over the Corgo Valley. On one evening, feeling adventurous, I opted for the hotel's restaurant, where I had the intriguing coriander soup. The flavours were subtle yet refreshing, setting the stage for the monkfish rice that followed. A dish of firewood oven-baked kid goat came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint; perfectly cooked with a smoky hint that resonated beautifully with the regional wines they expertly paired. After dinner, lounging by the pool with a glass of local wine was the ideal way to unwind. The tranquil atmosphere enveloped me, making me appreciate the culinary heritage this quinta so genuinely embodies. If you're a connoisseur of fine dining and picturesque escapes, do give this place a visit. You might find yourself lingering longer than planned-just as I did!
